Payment Collection

Client Overview: A prominent national school with over 20 branches across the US, including 6 schools in NYC with delinquent payments

Client's Issue: The client was owed nine months of payments, totaling $1,000,000, by the NYC Department of Education (DOE).

Proposed Solution: We successfully collected the outstanding payment within two months

Resolution Process: Using our connections, we lobbied with the New York City Agency to recover the funds, completing the process within 4-6 weeks.

Key Learnings : The NYC DOE is a slow payer, and many other entities also face delays in receiving payments from the city

Client Feedback: The client was pleased with our service and willingly paid our lobbying fees after receiving the payment from the city.

Contract Management

Client Overview: A first-time shelter management entity for a Not-for-Profit Hotel Program

Client's Issue: The client secured three (3) Hotel contracts from a New York City Agency worth over $70 Million but the contract was cancelled because of her operation issues

Proposed Solution: Advisory, We advocated for the client’s proposal, which was selected to receive the city contracts, and helped her to save back two (2) of the cancelled contract while managing the execution process to ensure the client retained the contracts.

Resolution Process: Securing a city contract is not enough; it is crucial to obtain funding and address potential operational and HR issues to retain the contract.

Key Learnings: New not-for-profit clients often require significant operational support, as well as technical expertise to navigate the political landscape

Securing Housing for Frontline Responders

Client Overview: New York City Government

Client's Issue: To secure housing for 1st responders during the COVID-19 pandemic

Proposed Solution: We reached out to hotel owners in Brooklyn to provide safe accommodations that met the guidelines at the time. It was essential to secure these spaces quickly to ensure that first responders had a place to stay

Resolution Process: We successfully placed three hotels in the first responder's hotel program, negotiating rates between $160 to $240 per day. Additionally, we brokered properties in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including a 77-unit SRO (Single Room Occupancy) in 2021 and a 20-unit building in 2016.
